Lauren Coughlin delivered one of the most dominant performances of the 2026 LPGA Tour season, pulling away from the world’s best to claim a convincing five-shot victory at the Aramco Championship held at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. The Lauren Coughlin Aramco Championship win further cements her growing reputation on tour.

The 33-year-old American finished the tournament at seven under par, producing a composed level-par final round that was never truly threatened.

The win marks Lauren Coughlin’s third LPGA Tour title and her first on home soil in the United States, having previously won in Canada and Scotland in 2024.

Along with the trophy, she pocketed the $600,000 top prize from the tournament’s impressive $4 million purse, an event organised by Golf Saudi that attracted 38 of the world’s top 40 ranked players.

World No. 2 Nelly Korda and Ireland’s Leona Maguire shared the runner-up spot at two under par.

Korda, who opened her 2026 season with a win in Orlando, now has three consecutive second-place finishes, a streak that highlights her consistent form even when victory slips away.

Maguire secured a share of second with a birdie at the 72nd hole, completing a final-round 71.

The turning point of the final round came at the par-three eighth hole, where Lauren Coughlin drained a stunning 45-foot downhill birdie putt.

Korda then three-putted the same green, missing a short par attempt, and suddenly found herself six shots adrift. From that moment, the result was never in doubt.

Lauren Coughlin had entered Sunday with just a two-shot cushion over Korda, who had closed the third round with back-to-back birdies to signal her intent.

However, her experience and comfort at Shadow Creek, a tough course where birdies are hard to come by, proved to be the difference.

The victory is especially meaningful for Lauren Coughlin, who came agonisingly close at this same venue last year, losing in a final-round match play encounter. That near-miss clearly fuelled her this week.

“Winning is really fun”

Lauren Coughlin said after her victory, reflecting on how last year’s heartbreak had driven her this season.

With this win, Lauren Coughlin re-establishes herself as a genuine contender on the LPGA Tour and will carry enormous confidence into the upcoming stretch of the season.
