
The Georgia Southern women’s golf team narrowly missed capturing the Sun Belt Championship title, finishing as runner-up after a closely contested match play final against Southern Miss at Lakewood Golf Club in Alabama.
In a match decided by the final pairing, Southern Miss edged the Eagles 3-1-1 to claim their first Sun Belt title since joining the conference. The final showdown reflected the fierce competition between the two programs.
Earlier in the day, Georgia Southern earned a hard-fought 3-2 semifinal victory against ULM. It was the second consecutive year the Eagles toppled the Warhawks in the semifinals, strengthening a growing postseason rivalry. Senior Loralie Cowart played a decisive role, clinching her 1UP match with a crucial two-putt on the 17th hole.

Looking Ahead to NCAA Selection
Ranked No. 33 by Clippd before the tournament, Georgia Southern is now looking ahead to a possible at-large bid for the 2025 NCAA Championship. The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for Monday, April 23 at 1 p.m. ET, where the Eagles hope to see their name called.
