Ben Griffin will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the 2025 Procore Championship after posting a 2-under 70 on Saturday at Silverado Resort’s North Course. At 16-under par (200), the 29-year-old is eyeing his third PGA TOUR victory of the season and a chance to join elite company alongside Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy as the only players with three or more wins this year.

Griffin’s steady round came despite a rare bogey on the par-5 18th — his first of the week — but he remains confident heading into Sunday.

“Having a one-shot lead on the PGA TOUR going into Sunday and my game feels great, so I can’t complain at all,” Griffin said. “There’s no holding on, there’s no defense — it’s offense all the way through 18 holes.”

Koivun Makes History Chase

Just one shot back is Jackson Koivun, the 21-year-old World No. 1 amateur from Auburn University. The rising star carded a 4-under 68 to move to 15-under (201) and is bidding to become the first amateur to win on TOUR since Nick Dunlap at the 2024 American Express.

Koivun admitted his resilience was key after a shaky start:

“Didn’t have a great start, but I was able to turn it around, make some birdies, make some putts, and keep myself in contention,” he said.

Already with PGA TOUR membership secured via the University Accelerated program, Koivun is proving he can contend against the best.

Scheffler Surges Into Contention

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler surged with a superb 8-under 64, climbing into solo third at 14-under (202). Scheffler, who leads the field in birdies (20) and Strokes Gained: Tee to Green, is chasing his sixth win of 2025 and 19th overall PGA TOUR title.

Despite a costly hiccup at the par-4 14th, Scheffler looked sharp and said he’s feeling increasingly comfortable on Silverado’s tricky greens.

“Hit a lot of greens, holed some nice putts. It’s always challenging on poa annua in the afternoon, but I did a good job today,” Scheffler said.

Higgo in the Mix

South Africa’s Garrick Higgo (66) sits fourth at 13-under (203). Already a winner this season at the Corales Puntacana Championship, Higgo leads the field in driving distance and believes he is close enough to strike.

“This course is a good test. I’m going to give my all,” he said.

Ryder Cup Watch

With 10 U.S. Ryder Cup players in the field, including Griffin and Scheffler, Sunday’s finale doubles as a confidence tune-up ahead of next month’s showdown. Scheffler noted:

“We love going into the Ryder Cup seeing guys play well, and Ben’s had a great year. It’s nice to see him continue that trend this week.”
