Cameron Young etched his name in PGA TOUR history on Sunday, becoming the 1,000th unique winner on TOUR with a wire-to-wire triumph at the Wyndham Championship.

Young, who had been knocking on the door of his first win with multiple runner-up finishes, finally broke through at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 27-year-old delivered a composed and confident performance across all four rounds, finishing at 18-under-par to secure a two-stroke victory over his nearest competitors.

Wire-to-Wire Performance

Young led after every round—an impressive feat in itself. He opened with a sizzling 62 and never relinquished his position atop the leaderboard. His final-round 66 was enough to hold off strong charges from the field, including Russell Henley and Michael Kim, who both finished tied for second.

First Win After 10 Runner-Up Finishes

This win was especially significant for Young, who had previously recorded 10 runner-up finishes without a victory. With this breakthrough, he silenced doubts and confirmed his place among the elite on TOUR.

Historic Milestone

Young’s win is not only a personal milestone but a historic one for the PGA TOUR. He becomes the 1,000th different player to win an official PGA TOUR event since records began in 1929.

What’s Next

With this victory, Young moves up in the FedExCup standings and gains momentum heading into the playoffs. It also boosts his confidence and solidifies his standing as one of the most promising young stars in golf.
