FIU Women’s Golf Secures Podium Finish at 2025 C-USA Championship

FIU Women's Golf

In a dramatic finale at the 2025 Conference USA (C-USA) Championship, Florida International University’s women’s golf team powered their way to a third-place finish, the program’s best performance since 2022.

Starting the final round eight strokes behind the leaders, the Panthers launched an impressive run with a five-under-par front nine at the Slammer & Squire course in World Golf Village. This hot start briefly vaulted them into the lead and ignited hopes of a title run.

However, the momentum faded on the back nine as the team closed out the day with a 298 (+10) final-round score. Despite slipping to third place behind Jacksonville State and Western Kentucky (the eventual champions), FIU’s three-round total of 883 (288-297-298) reflected substantial progress and growing promise.

FIU head coach Jessica Steward praised the team’s grit: “We gave ourselves a chance and that’s all you can really ask for. This group battled hard.”

Top Performers

  • Hoi Ki Lau: Finished 7th with a two-over-par showing.
  • Karissa Kilby: Tied for 8th at +3, continuing consistent sophomore form.
  • Catalina Harvey: Freshman debutant placed 15th after two even-par rounds to open the tournament.

Depth also played a key role, with Amandine Seguin (score: 230) and Salysa Mason (score: 231) finishing inside the top 30 and contributing critical scores in challenging conditions marked by gusty winds and precise approach demands.

Looking Ahead

Coach Steward expressed optimism about the future: “The girls now have the experience and motivation to take the next step.” With most of the core players eligible to return, there is a belief that this team can challenge even stronger opponents in the seasons ahead.
