The Wellesley, Massachusetts, native fills in for Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama, who cannot attend due to scheduling conflicts. TGL teams maintain a four-player roster to handle absences from injury or scheduling. When necessary, alternates can be added to ensure a full three-player team. Eligible alternates must be PGA TOUR members in good standing.

Thorbjornsen reflected on the opportunity, saying, “I was back in Wellesley recently for my high school reunion, and it really reminded me where this journey started. To now represent Boston alongside Rory and Keegan is incredibly special. These are players I’ve admired, and competing with them feels like a full-circle moment.”

Excitement for Team and Competition

He added, “I’ve seen what Boston Common Golf and TGL are building. The intensity, innovation, and team aspect fit exactly how I love to compete. I’m excited to learn from these world-class golfers and give everything whenever the team needs me.”

McIlroy shared his enthusiasm as well: “I’m excited to have Michael join us for our first match. You often see young talent coming up, but it’s rare to experience the future of the game as a teammate. Michael brings elite talent and a real connection to Boston Common Golf. I’m looking forward to having him with us.”

The addition of Thorbjornsen strengthens Boston Common Golf’s lineup as they aim to start the 2026 TGL season with a strong performance.
