Lydia Ko’s Final-Round Brilliance Secures Third LPGA Title of the Season!

Lydia Ko put on an aggressive display on Sunday and won her third LPGA Tour title of the year at the Kroger Queen City Championship in Maineville, Ohio, with a 9-under 63. Coming from a two-shot deficit, Ko emerged as the winner in the group, five shots clear of Jeeno Thitikul and the championship at 23-under 265.

Ko’s third win in the last four starts, an Olympic gold medal, and a triumph in the AIG Women’s Open at St. Andrews. This triumph puts the 27-year-old New Zealand player at 74 points, just one point from being inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame, thus keeping her as one of golf’s icons.

Lydia Ko Dominates with Final Round Surge

Lydia Ko‘s remarkable Sunday began with her trailing Thitikul by two shots. However, her composure and precision turned the tables quickly. A crucial birdie on the 10th hole brought her level with Thitikul, and an eagle on the 11th propelled her into the lead. Ko extended her advantage with birdies on the 13th and 15th holes, while Thitikul stumbled with bogeys.

Thitikul, who finished second after a 70, admired Ko, saying, “Her putter was on fire today… It was such a really good experience watching her in my eyes, on the same tee box, on the same greens.”

Ko’s dominant play caps off a remarkable season, including wins in Florida and Europe. Her latest triumph continues to showcase her status as one of the most consistent and formidable players in golf.

Lydia Ko now sets her sights on the upcoming Hana Financial Group Championship in South Korea, where she has a chance to achieve a milestone of 30 career titles worldwide.
