Lilia Vu Withdraws from the Chevron Championship Due to Back Injury!

Ranked as the world No. 2, Lilia Vu has taken the tough call of pulling out from the Chevron Championship scheduled for her title defense, citing a back injury suffered during warm-up practice. Her withdrawal notice was issued on Thursday, just moments before the commencement of tournament matches.

Lilia Vu expressed her disappointment in a statement: “I have been dealing with a back injury for a while now. Some days are better than others, and today was unfortunately not a good day.” She emphasized that the discomfort during her warm-up routine hindered her ability to compete at her best and led to her withdrawal.

Lilia Vu has encountered another obstacle, compounding her recent difficulties. In the current year alone, she had to withdraw from three tournaments due to different ailments and persistent back issues that required ongoing management efforts. Despite these attempts at treating her injury, it kept recurring, which affected Vu’s performance on the course in a negative manner.

Vu had shown confidence in her ability to defend her title earlier this week and shared that she was almost completely healed. Despite this, the pain intensity during her pre-game preparation caused Vu to pull out from competing.

Having had a remarkable season before, wherein she won two major championships and achieved the distinguished Rolex Player of the Year award at just 26 years old – this golfer has faced substantial obstacles to her performance due to recurring injuries.

The news of Vu’s exit from the Chevron Championship has disheartened her supporters and herself. Nevertheless, caring for one’s health is imperative; thus, she will concentrate on finding an optimal approach to recuperate.

As Lilia Vu returns home to assess her condition, golf enthusiasts eagerly await her return to full strength and the resumption of her competitive endeavors.
