Golf Ireland Club Volunteer of the Year Awards Shortlist Announced  

Volunteers are the lifeblood of golf clubs across Ireland, and their tireless contributions don’t go unnoticed. The announcement of the shortlist for the Golf Ireland Club Volunteer of the Year Awards has marked a special milestone in celebrating these unsung heroes. Here’s what you need to know about the 2025 edition of the awards.  

Honoring Excellence in Irish Golf  

The Golf Ireland Club Volunteer of the Year Awards have always sought to recognize and celebrate the invaluable work of volunteers who dedicate countless hours to their local clubs. This dedication ensures the growth, inclusivity, and sustainability of golf at all levels.  

This year, the awards program has been thoughtfully expanded to reflect the evolving priorities of the golf community and includes several new categories. Among these are the LevelPar Award, Disability & Inclusion Award, Sustainability Award, and Junior categories, providing a broader platform for recognizing diverse contributions.  

With nominations now closed, 17 exemplary individuals have been selected for the awards. The nominees span various categories, shining a spotlight on initiatives and efforts that have transformed golf clubs nationwide.

  • Linda McGuire from County Louth
  • Judith Connolly from Portadown
  • John Duggan from Kanturk
  • John Glynn from Bearna
  • Rory Gallagher from Galway Bay
  • Adam Fahey from Portmarnock
  • John Doyle from Fota Island
  • Brian Doran from Millicent

The final winners will be revealed at the Golf Ireland National AGM, set to take place on 29th  March 2025. This annual gathering serves as the perfect stage to celebrate these incredible contributions, offering recognition not just to the nominees but also to the value of volunteerism within Irish golf.
