As the PGA TOUR season enters its final stretch, players are crunching numbers and watching the FedExCup Fall standings closely. With only three events left, the fight for a top-100 finish, and full TOUR status for 2026, has become one of the most intense in recent memory.

In previous years, the top 125 players retained their cards. But with the new system introduced this season, only the top 100 will remain fully exempt next year. That shift has left a wide mix of rookies, veterans, and former champions scrambling for valuable points.

The new cutoff creates career-defining pressure

This year’s change has dramatically raised the stakes. Players who would have been safe under the old format, such as Joel Dahmen (No. 108), now find themselves fighting to keep their TOUR status.

With the competition tighter than ever, every stroke and finish matters. Even those entering next week’s World Wide Technology Championship with lackluster seasons still have a mathematical chance to break into the top 100.

Current standings around the bubble

Here’s how the bubble currently looks, with a mix of players either safely exempt or clinging to their spots:

  1. Danny Walker
  2. Matt Wallace
  3. Max McGreevy
  4. Beau Hossler
  5. David Lipsky
  6. Billy Horschel*
  7. Patrick Fishburn
  8. Joel Dahmen
  9. Andrew Putnam
  10. Taylor Moore
  11. Matt Kuchar

*Already exempt for 2026 season

The group includes everyone from rising stars like Isaiah Salinda to veterans such as Brandt Snedeker and Matt Kuchar, all fighting to remain on TOUR.

Movement and volatility in the standings

The FedExCup Fall has already seen plenty of movement. Over the first four events, five players have dropped out of the top 100, including Sami Valimaki and Taylor Moore, while others, like Rico Hoey and Thorbjørn Olesen, have surged upward.

In 2024, eight players moved in or out of the top 125 by the season’s end, suggesting more volatility could be ahead. With only a 93-point difference separating No. 100 David Lipsky and No. 120 Matt Kuchar, even one strong finish could change a player’s future.

The road ahead

Every point will matter over the next three weeks as players chase their TOUR cards. A single top-10 finish could secure safety, while a missed cut might spell the end of full-time status.

As the FedExCup Fall nears its conclusion, fans can expect more drama, surprises, and heartbreak before the top-100 is finally set.
