Cameron Young produced a commanding performance to win the inaugural Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral Miami, securing a six-shot victory and his second PGA Tour title of the 2026 season.
Young finished the week at 19-under par after leading from start to finish, marking the second-largest winning margin on the PGA Tour this year. He entered the final round with a six-shot lead and extended it early with birdies on the third, fifth, and eighth holes, reaching 18-under through nine holes and effectively ending the competition.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler mounted a late push with three birdies in his final four holes, finishing second at 13-under, but never seriously threatened the leader down the stretch. It marked Scheffler’s third consecutive runner-up finish in recent weeks.
Despite Scheffler’s charge, Young remained in control throughout the back nine, mixing three birdies with two bogeys to close out a comfortable victory and claim the third PGA Tour title of his career.
“I think the self-belief just continues to build. I put myself in plenty of good places over the course of the last four, five years. Recently, I’ve started to come out on the better side of it.”
Cameron Young Self-Called Penalty Moment
One of the defining moments of Young’s round came early on the second hole, when he called a one-stroke penalty on himself after his ball moved while he grounded his club.
He immediately informed a rules official and accepted the penalty without hesitation.
“It’s just one of those, your heart sinks when you see it move, but it moved, and that’s part of what golf’s about.”
He recovered well, still making par on the hole after a strong approach and a long putt, maintaining momentum in his round.
Big Win and Season Impact
Young earned a $3.6 million prize for the victory and is expected to rise to third in the FedExCup standings following the Signature Event win.
With two victories already in 2026 and growing confidence, Cameron Young continues to establish himself as one of the standout performers on the PGA Tour this season.
