Ben Griffin produced a stunning final-round 63 at El Cardonal at Diamante, finishing at 29-under 259 to claim his third PGA TOUR victory of 2025. His score set a new tournament record and cemented his place among the season’s elite performers.

Trailing by two shots entering Sunday, Griffin played aggressively from the start, making three birdies in his first four holes. His steady approach paid off, sealing victory with birdies on 16 and 18.

“I knew I could post a number and apply pressure,” Griffin said. “I kept the pedal down and made the putts I needed.”

Joins McIlroy and Scheffler in Elite Company

The win places Griffin alongside Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler as the only golfers with three or more victories in 2025. It also marks his 12th top-10 finish of the year, continuing an incredible stretch that included a runner-up at the Procore Championship and his Ryder Cup debut in September.

From Loan Officer to Top 10 Golfer

Griffin’s story remains one of golf’s most inspiring comebacks. After stepping away from professional golf in 2021 and working as a loan officer in North Carolina, he returned to the sport following the death of his grandfather, a turning point that reignited his career.

Less than five years later, Griffin is set to enter the Official World Golf Ranking top 10 for the first time.

“The world’s a crazy place,” he reflected. “You just have to believe and take advantage of opportunities. I’m so grateful I got another shot.”

A Season to Remember

Griffin’s earlier wins came at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the Charles Schwab Challenge, and Sunday’s title at World Wide Technology adds another milestone to his breakout year.

This was also the first event where he’ll take home a trophy, his previous wins awarded belt buckles instead. “I think this one’s finally making it back to my house,” he joked.

With a wedding next month and a career-best season behind him, Griffin’s focus remains clear. “I’m not done,” he said. “I’ll keep working hard, just like Tiger and Scottie, and use every win as fuel for the next one.”
