U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley has confirmed that Bryson DeChambeau will be on the 2025 team, regardless of where he finishes in the standings. Although DeChambeau currently ranks fifth in Ryder Cup points, he’s unable to accumulate more due to LIV Golf’s lack of qualifying events. Bradley emphasized DeChambeau’s energy, passion, and overall importance to Team USA, stating that his spot is already secure.

Gotterup’s Impressive Climb

Chris Gotterup made one of the biggest moves in the Ryder Cup standings, jumping 19 spots to 22nd. This surge came after winning the Scottish Open and placing in the top three at The Open. His recent form adds weight to his case for a potential captain’s pick, especially as the U.S. team looks for both current form and consistency.

New Rule Could Make Bradley a Player-Captain

Thanks to a recent agreement between team captains, Keegan Bradley could become the first American player-captain since 1963. The revised rules now allow vice-captains to give on-course advice if Bradley plays. If he qualifies through points or gets selected, he could fulfill dual roles, a rarity in modern Ryder Cup history.

Standings Race Tightens

The top six players in the standings will automatically make the team. Justin Thomas currently holds the final auto-qualifying spot, but several players are closing in fast. Bradley made it clear that those outside the top six shouldn’t expect to make the team without a compelling case. He emphasized the tough decisions ahead, balancing seasoned veterans with rising talent.
