As we approach the 2025 season, the Elon University men’s golf program is making waves with the announcement of five new recruits set to join the team. Under the guidance of Head Coach Don Hill, the Phoenix continue to elevate their presence in the collegiate golf scene, fueled by major facility upgrades and the promise of fresh talent.

Elon University Men’s Golf Team: Building for the Future

On December 9, the Phoenix made headlines with the introduction of five new players who will sport the maroon and gold in 2025. Though their names haven’t been revealed, their inclusion signals the growth and ambition of a program led by a top-tier coaching staff and increasingly sought-after resources in the world of college golf.

Coach Hill, now a key figure in Elon’s golf renaissance, has been instrumental in driving the success of the men’s golf program. Highlighting his tenure is the strengthening of recruitment efforts, closely tied to improvements in the university’s golf facilities and training environment.

The Impact of Facility Upgrades on the Golf Program

Thanks to a recently unveiled $3 million fundraising initiative, Elon’s golf program now boasts state-of-the-art features that have reshaped the way players train and compete. The enhancements include:

  • Expanded and modernized driving ranges.
  • A newly constructed clubhouse at Holland House to foster team camaraderie.
  • Upgrades to the W. Cecil Worsley III Golf Training Center, providing cutting-edge tools like Trackman technology to hone player performance.

These upgrades are designed not only to improve the day-to-day experience for current players but also to position Elon as an attractive destination for high-performing recruits on the national stage. The Phoenix aim to solidify its competitive edge by integrating technology and cultivating elite-level resources.

Recruitment and Team Atmosphere

Elon’s bolstered facilities and strong coaching staff are creating a desirable program for aspiring golfers. Head Coach Don Hill and Assistant Coach Roddy Guest have built a collaborative and development-focused team environment.

Additionally, the presence of Cameron Ringstead, the dedicated head sports performance coach, underscores the program’s commitment to holistic athletic and personal development.

Currently, standout players on the team include talents like Matthew Doyle, Bronson Myers, and Garrett Risner, among others. This strong roster will be further enhanced by the incoming recruits, who are expected to contribute significantly to the program’s success while benefiting from the upgraded resources.

What’s Next for the Phoenix

As Elon looks toward the 2025 season, hard work, innovation, and dedication continue to define their path. With the combination of key investments in their program and the infusion of fresh talent, the Phoenix are positioning themselves for a breakout season in the highly competitive NCAA golf circuit.

Elon fans, golf enthusiasts, and prospective student-athletes alike have plenty to be excited about as the men’s golf program gears up for its next chapter.
