David Lipsky Leads Procore Championship, Eyes First PGA Tour Win!

David Lipsky shot an impressive 7-under 65 at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, California, to grab the first-round lead at the Procore Championship. With eight birdies and only one bogey, Lipsky holds a one-stroke advantage as he chases his first-ever PGA Tour win after 104 starts.

After missing the cut in his last three events, David Lipsky refocused, spending time with his college coach and current Northwestern University players. “Just being around those guys and seeing how carefree they are… it’s sort of nice to see that,” Lipsky said. “I was almost energized by their youthfulness.”

Kizzire and Hubbard Trail by One Stroke

Patton Kizzire and Mark Hubbard finished the day one shot behind Lipsky. Kizzire made a strong push late in his round with three consecutive birdies but dropped back with a bogey on the eighth hole. “I stayed patient and just went through my routines and played well, one shot at a time,” Kizzire said, crediting his mental game.

Hubbard had nine birdies, but a bogey and triple bogey on back-to-back holes slowed his momentum. Kevin Dougherty also shot 67, bolstered by two eagles, including a hole-out from 41 yards on the 18th.

Defending champion Sahith Theegala finished at 69, while Wyndham Clark and Max Homa struggled with rounds of 70 and 71, respectively. Despite some struggles off the tee, David Lipsky’s consistent iron play and putting gave him a solid start as he looks to break through with his first PGA Tour win.
