International Presidents Cup captain Mike Weir is counting on home advantage and national pride as he gears up for this month’s matches at Royal Montreal. In a strategic move, Weir has selected three Canadians—Corey Conners, Taylor Pendrith, and Mackenzie Hughes—as captain’s picks, joining an already strong International squad.

Conners, ranked seventh in the points standings, is eager to improve on his debut in the 2022 Presidents Cup, where he went winless at 0-4. Pendrith, who claimed his first PGA Tour victory earlier this year at the Byron Nelson, also returns after a tough 2022 performance. Hughes, known for his remarkable putting skills (No. 4 on Tour), will make his Presidents Cup debut, an addition that Mike Weir believes will be crucial.
